Meet Gerry

Learn what you are building before you build it: an AI assistant with a name, a face, a voice and your life in its head. This is mine.

Gerry, a gorilla in a blue puffer jacket and a party hat
Alright. I run my human's week. You can build one of me.

Gerry is a gorilla in a puffer jacket and a party hat. He is also my assistant, and I talk to him every day.

What he does

  • Answers questions about your own life out loud: how you slept, what is due, what is next
  • Knows how you work, and gives you one next action instead of a menu of six
  • Writes back when you tell it something, so your records update by talking
  • Says what it cannot see yet instead of making something up

Why a character, and not a chatbot

A chatbot knows what it read on the internet. An assistant knows you slept 5h40 last night and the MOT is due on the 14th, because it reads a record you own.

The character is what makes you keep using it. You come back to something you like talking to. A nudge in a voice you picked lands better than a notification. And it is fun to show people, which is how I ended up making videos about a gorilla.

What you will build

1.Give it a character. Invent your assistant and write the rules it lives by. You end up with a one-page character sheet it can follow.
2.Give it a home. Build and launch your own private app with AI, without writing code. A web address only you can open.
3.Give it a memory. Get your goals, to-dos and notes into one place your assistant can read. About an afternoon.
4.Give it a voice. Ask your assistant about your own life, out loud from your phone, and hear it answer from your data.
5.Give it a face. Make a consistent character image and a looping video of it, so your assistant looks alive on screen. Coming soon.
6.Give it a job. Your first daily check-in. It picks one habit, asks about it, and praises or pushes you in character. Coming soon.

No coding experience needed. You describe what you want and an AI tool writes it.

What he costs

About $17 a month for Gerry himself, on the best model. The whole AI bill, background jobs included, runs about $80 a month if I leave it alone. See the real bill and how to keep it down.
